GENEVA. March 30. KAZINFORM Kazakhstan topped all Central Asian countries in the World Economic Forum's newly released 2013 Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Index.

The survey, released in March, ranked Kazakhstan 88th out of 140 countries - a five-slot improvement from the last previous survey in 2011.

Kyrgyzstan ranked 111th (107th in 2011), while Tajikistan finished 114th (118th in 2011). Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan weren't ranked. Pakistan finished 122nd, compared to 125th in 2011. Switzerland and Haiti finished in 1st and 140th places, respectively.

The survey ranked dozens of factors in the categories "regulatory framework," "business environment and infrastructure," and "human, cultural and natural resources," according to the Kazakh Embassy in the U.S.
