Zhambyl SMEs conclude 348 memoranda worth 30 bln tenge

TARAZ. KAZINFORM - Small and medium sized businesses in Kazakhstan can boost the economy, this has been said by Governor of Zhambyl region Karim Kokrekbayev at the recent enlarged meeting of the Regional Council of the Chamber of Entrepreneurs with the Chairman of the Presidium of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan Timur Kulibayev.

In his opinion, one of the levers of support to entrepreneurs in a down economy is to increase the proportion of local content in procurement of goods and services through signing of memoranda and contracts between large companies and SMEs. "To date, companies of the region have signed 348 memoranda totaling 30 billion tenge," said the head of the region K. Kokrekbayev. In addition, thanks to "Business Road Map 2020" program 374 entrepreneurs of the region have received assistance in projects implementation worth 45.5 billion tenge. This, in turn, has created about 2.5 thousand jobs. According to the regional administration more than 44 thousand SMEs operate in Zhambyl region.
