ASTANA. September 7. KAZINFORM Kazakhstan sees increase in electricity production, expands military and technical cooperation with European countries.

The Government of Kazakhstan has been charged to minimize non-effective expenditures.

On Monday (September 3) at the Parliament's session, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev instructed the Government to decrease non-effective expenditures when forming the new budget to the maximum.

"Expenses that do not ensure the economic growth and population's employment should not be considered," President Nazarbayev said.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population announced Monday KZT 10 billion had been allotted on the financing of the Employment-2020 Program in the republican budget in 2012. Engineering and social infrastructure facilities in rural areas of the country are to be reconstructed according to the plan. 4 000 participants of the abovementioned program are expected to be hired in the rural areas after reconstruction comes to an end.

The Government convened for a session to focus on the preparation for the new heating season on Tuesday (September 4). Chairman of the Agency for Construction and Housing Affairs Serik Nokin reported on the preparation for the new heating season.

On Wednesday (September 5) Kazakhstan and Austria signed the protocol of the 4th session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Commercial and Economic Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Astana. The document outlines the basic agreements on trade, tourism, agriculture, finance and banking sector, energy, environment and ecology achieved at the session. The parties also agreed on organization of a presentation of Kazakhstan's bid to host the international exhibition EXPO-2017.

The same day CEO of Kazakhstan Engineering National Company Bolat Smagulov visited a number of local enterprises in order to discuss the military and technical cooperation. The Polish companies confirmed their participation in a business forum this September in Astana.

Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Massimov took part in the Kazakh-Estonian Business Forum on Thursday (September 6) in Astana. Prime Minister of Estonia Andrus Ansip, who was present at the forum, noted that after his last visit to Kazakhstan thanks to established business contacts the sales turnover between Kazakhstan and Estonia had increased considerably.

On Friday (September 7) within the official visit of Uzbek leader Islam Karimov to Kazakhstan, the countries signed a wide range of the bilateral documents, for instance, on cross-border points on the Kazakh-Uzbek state border.

Nurlan Kapparov, Minister of Environmental Protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan, participated in Tbilisi+35 Intergovernmental Conference on Environmental Education for Sustainable Development on September 7 where he reiterated Kazakhstan's interest in discussing the pressing topics of the environmental education, getting and introducing new experience and sharing experience in this sphere. Minister Kapparov also noted the this year Kazakhstan together with its partners is to launch the Green Bridge Partnership Program that was backed at the Rio+20 Conference on Sustainable Development.
