ASTANA. September 1. KAZINFORM "We are to foster a generation that will lead Kazakhstan forward," Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev said unveiling a new school #70 in Astana on the Knowledge Day.

"Today we are unveiling a new school. Today's schools are quite different from what we've had earlier. The new schools boast state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, they offer trilingual educational programs which is of paramount importance nowadays. At these school students can go in for sports and develop their talents aside from their studies. I congratulate all teachers, parents and children, of course, on this great holiday!" President Nazarbayev noted at the unveiling ceremony.

The Head of State stressed Kazakhstan attached a lot of attention to children's education. Some 522 schools are to be built by 2016. Thus, Kazakhstan gears up to make a transition to 12-year education.
