URGENT: Tersairyk frontier outpost chief detained on suspicion of beating border guards

ASTANA. June 21. KAZINFORM Three  servicemen doing military service under contract, including head of the Tersairyk frontier outpost in East Kazakhstan region were detained on suspicion of beating border guards, the press service of the Office of the Chief Military Prosecutor of Kazakhstan said.

As earlier reported, on June 18, 11 compulsory-duty servicemen of the Tersairyk frontier outpost voluntarily left the frontier station. The same day they were found and taken to the frontier post. They said that they had been beaten by servicemen doing military service under contract.

On June 19, 2012 the military prosecutor of Ust-Kamenogorsk garrison filed a criminal case under paragraph 'a', part 2, Article 380-1 of the Criminal Code.

The investigation is underway.
