Unified National Healthcare System to improve medic care work

ASTANA. July 31. KAZINFORM /Aigul Tulekbayeva/   Implementation of the Unified National Healthcare System (CNHS) will improve the work of the country's medical institutions and make them more competitive, according to Healthcare Minister Zhaksylyk Doskaliyev told Kazinform.

As earlier reported, the Government has approved the Plan on implementation of the Unified National Healthcare System (UNHS). It is planned to be developed in two stages: during 2010-2015 and 2016-2020.

According to the developers the new healthcare model allows Kazakhstan citizens to choose a medical institution and doctor irrespectively to their place of residence. "The model will optimize the healthcare network that we have. I think there will be a good motivation as a result of competition for render of medical service", - the Minister said.

According to him budget funds per one patient vary from region to region inside the country. "KZT 88.5 thousand has been allocated for inpatient treatment in Karaganda region whereas KZT 44 thousand has been allocated for South-Kazakhstan Oblast", - Minister Zh. Doskaliyev said.

Prime Minister Karim Massimov supported the plan. "I think this issue will be developed further. Whether this reform will let receive better treatment or not - the time will show. Therefore we should develop it promptly and gradually", - he said.
