UNICEF and Public Administration Academy develop ties by signing MoU in Astana
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Aryn Orsariyev, Rector, APA, and Ms. Hanaa Singer, UNICEF Representative in Kazakhstan, the press release of the UNICEF Kazakhstan reads.
"The Academy is one of the Kazakhstan's leading research and teaching institutions which hosts a unique team of faculty members and graduate students, the next generation of decision-makers and leaders of this country" - Ms. Singer said at the Memorandum signing ceremony. "Building partnerships with leading academia like APA is the UNICEF's strategic goal and is the result of our trust in the Academy's continuous and effective efforts to protect and secure a better future for children", she added.
Through this MoU both UNICEF and APA agree to collaborate on several areas including:
•effective contribution to improving the wellbeing of children of Kazakhstan through the research initiatives (including the ones of analyzing vulnerabilities and disparities), expertise and experience sharing and development of respective policy options to be further promoted to and supported by the Government;
development and incorporation of social and economic policy and child rights courses and agendas in the regular curricular of APA;
equipping the current and future politicians/and decision-makers with a top-notch knowledge on effective policy planning and management and children's rights to ensure that the public policies in Kazakhstan are pro-child and pro-vulnerable
Both the UNICEF and APA are committed to promoting knowledge and best practices and advocating for children rights within all sectors of society and government.
