tau - is a historical and geographical center of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a cradle of Kazakh people. It is one of the epicenters of nomadic culture and steppe civilization, Makah of Turk people and center of the Great Eurasian Steppe. Great events of the national history connected with foundation of Kazakh Khanate and nationhood.

"Khan Ordasy" is located at the 17 km from Ulytau municipality to the right side of Amangeldy village in Karaganda region.

"Khan Ordasy" is a khan's residence of XII - XV centuries including the period of Yessim Khan's rule.

Then in XIII century this locality belonged to Zhoshy Khan, in XIV century - to Edyge Khan, in XVI century - to Tokhtamys Khan, in XVII-XVIII centuries till XIX century - to Abylai Khan. And in XIX century it belonged to Kenessary Khan.

Archeologist B. Kumekov analyzing Arabian sources of the middle centuries determined that kimak-kipchaks who settled Ulytau had sedentary life and were engaged in trade and handicraft. According to Maksud Kukistan the residence of Abulkhair Khan and Orda Bazar located in Ulytau Mountains, "which was the capital of the middle age state Desht-i-Kipchak".

According to the description of Arabian scientist Al-Idrisi Kimaks had 16 towns. According to traveler Gardizi there was a sainted place with cave paintings - a shaft with an unfailing spring of healing water. Local Turk people worshipped to this place. In 1993 archeologist Zh. Smailov counted nine towns and settlements of the middle age in Ulytau Mountains.

The plan of measures on popularization of Ulytau natural and historical monuments was developed in 2008.
