TNK-BP interested in operation on shelf of Russia, other countries

SCOW. October 20. KAZINFORM TNK-BP is interested in the operation on the shelf of Russia and other countries, TNK-BP Vice President Pavel Ilyasov told reporters on the sidelines of a conference, which the Vedomosti newspaper organized on Thursday.

According to Itar-Tass, Russia has restrictions for private companies in the shelf projects in Russia, therefore, TNK-BP "is keeping in touch with state-run companies and the state authorities over probable joining similar projects," he said. "However, no concrete results were achieved yet," he added.

TNK-BP is also interested in the shelf outside Russia, Ilyasov noted.

TNK-BP pursues a strategic goal to stabilize an oil falling production in Western Siberia at 1.8% thanks to the development of Yamal oil fields and the oil projects outside Russia (Brazil, Vietnam, Venezuela), he underlined.
