The holy month of Ramadan to start June 28

ASTANA. KAZINFORM At today's meeting the board of the Spiritual Administration of the Muslims of Kazakhstan announced June 28, 2014 as the first day of the holy month of Ramadan.

The meeting chaired by Grand Mufti of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims Yerzhan Khaji Malgajyuly focused on preparations for Ramadan. He urged imams to hold more charity events during the holy month. "If there is no unity and cooperation in the country then the future of the country is indefinite. The reason of disappearance of scores of nations, loss of roots and unity is the lack of kindness. Various nationalities live in peace under one roof in Kazakhstan. It is the gift and mercy of Allah," he added.
