Tengiz sulfur reserves shrunk to 580,000 tons

ATYRAU. KAZINFORM As of October 1, 2014 the Tengiz deposit sulfur reserves fell to 580,000 tons, TengizChevroil (TCO) press service said.

TCO has sold 2,8 mln tons of sulfur since the beginning of the year while it produced just 1,7 mln tons over January-September. So there are only 580,000 tons left at the sulfur pads of the company. It sells high-quality sulfur mainly to the byers from the countries of the Mediterranean basin and Central Asia, including Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine and China. Sulfur is one of the precious raw materials used for the production of more than 30,000 industrial products, including fertilizers, single-purpose chemical agents.
