tan Arystanbekov (1897-1975) was a public figure, one of the organizers of the Democratic Council of Kazakh Youth.

He was born in former Ubagan Volost of Kostanay district in Turgay region (now Kostanay region). He graduated from 2-class Russian-Kazakh Academy, then teaching seminary in Omsk. He took an active part in the work of "Birlik" society.

At the end of 1917 he under the influence of S. Seifullin together with Zh. Saduakassov, A. Dossov, Kh. Zhussipbekov separated from "Birlik" society and organized the Democratic Council of Kazakh Youth. T. Arystanbekov was elected as its chairman.

In 1918 he was arrested for his agitation activity. During 1918-1923 he worked as a teacher.

In 1921 he participated in II All-Kazakh Congress where he was elected the member of the Central Executive Committee of the Kazakh SSR. In 1923-1924 he was the student of the Central Asian State University.

In 1924-1926 he worked as deputy prosecutor of Kostanay district; during 1927-1928 he was the prosecutor of the People's Committee of Justice of the Kazakh SSR, chairman of Syrdarya governorate court.

In 1937 he was victimized and convicted for 10 years. In 1947 he was released.

In 1948 he was repeatedly arrested and sent to Krasnoyarsk district.

He was rehabilitated in 1957.
