Son-in-law of fugitive ex-governor of Atyray rgn arrested in Switzerland

ATYRAU. KAZINFORM Son-in-law of ex-governor of the Atyrau region Bergei Ryskaliyev Rustem Albakasov was arrested in Switzerland upon the request of the Kazakh law enforcement agencies, some agencies report referring to their own sources.

Though the financial police department of the Atyrau region neither confirms nor denies this information. As earlier reported, above USD 100 mln belonging to the family of ex-governor Ryskaliyev was found and frozen at the Swiss banks. Ryskaliyev and his brother, ex-deputy of the Majilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Amanzhan Ryskaliyev, are allegedly residing in London. The wife of Bergei Ryskaliyev owns a property company the large one even by English standards.
