Social expenses make half of national budget's expenditures - President

ASTANA.  December 15. KAZINFORM  /Muratbek Makulbekov/ The expenses for social sector's development make about a half of all national budget's expenditures, Kazinform refers to President Nursultan Nazarbayev who has said it at the festive concert dedicated to the country's 18th anniversary in Astana Tuesday.

State expenditures for education and healthcare have been raised more than eight times in the last 10 years; for education - from KZT 85 bln up to KZT 710 bln, for healthcare - from KZT 54 bln up to KZT 468 bln. As a result, 641 schools have been built in this period. 85 of them were erected within 100 schools, 100 hospitals state program.

The President also reminded of creation of innovative educational centers, like 20 intellectual schools, new University of Astana, the International University of Information Technologies in Almaty.

"Since 1993 we have been sending our youth for study at the best foreign universities under Bolashak state program. 763 students have already graduated this year and returned to Kazakhstan. We must care of their employment", N. Nazarbayev noted.

"Healthcare sphere has experienced great changes in this time. Over ten years we have built 124 hospitals and outpatient clinics. A unique medical holding which provides citizens with all modern services has been opened", the Head of the State said.

Kazakhstani scientists were among the first to develop a vaccine against the A/H5N1 and A/H1N1 flues, the President reminded and congratulated the scientists on their success.
