Snow cover depth in Almaty city reaches 10 cm

ALMATY. KAZINFORM - Snow cover depth In Almaty city has reached 10 cm due to heavy snowfall in the last couple of days.

Height of snow in the city was 10 cm, in foothill and mountain areas - up to 30 cm, Kazinform has learnt from the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of Almaty city. At nighttime utilities made sweeping and sprinkling of roadways with sand-chloride mixture. Total there has been removed 320 cubic meters of snow. Snow removal operation involved 498 special vehicles and 820 road workers. Work on the sweeping and shoveling snow from the streets and sidewalks of the city is underway. Snow removal operations will be completed during the day.
