Senate Speaker K.Tokayev arrives in Morocco
He held talks with the chairman of the House of Councillors of the Parliament of Morocco Mohamed al-Sheikh Biyadil, the press service of the Senate informs. K.Tokayev briefed Mohamed al-Sheikh Biyadil about the priorities of the President's Address to people of Kazakhstan Nurly Zhol, noting that this strategic document is of special significance amid the world crisis. The Speaker also talked about the preparations for the Fifth Congress of leaders of world and traditional religions, which will take place on June 10-11, 2015 in Astana. M.Biyadil shared information on the socio-economic development of Morocco, the situation in the Arab world and the African continent. Expressing gratitude for the official Rabat's support of Kazakhstan's candidacy for non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, K.Tokayev emphasized our country's interest in the development of multilateral cooperation with Morocco in the framework of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Arab League, the Islamic Organization for Education, Science and Culture. Mohamed al-Sheikh Biyadil stressed that Morocco appreciates the wise, balanced policy of President Nursultan Nazarbayev, aimed at improving the welfare of the people of Kazakhstan and the strengthening of international security. The two sides agreed to actively use the potential of the parliamentary groups for collaboration in the parliaments of the two states. A wide range of issues of Kazakh-Moroccan relations has been discussed during the round table of K.Tokayev and the Chairman of the House of Deputies of the Parliament of Morocco R. Al-Alyami. The Speaker of the Senate called for further development of contacts between parliamentarians on a bilateral basis and within the framework of the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. During the meeting with the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Morocco Abdelillah Benkiran, K.Tokayev briefed him about the economic enhancement of Kazakhstan, noting that, despite the difficult situation in global financial markets, the country is successfully implementing the President's strategy "Kazakhstan-2050" which aimes at Kazakhstan's entrance into the ranks of the 30 most developed nations. Senate Speaker expressed hope that Moroccan companies will take part in the international exhibition "EXPO-2017". The Prime Minister promised to ensure the participation of Moroccan companies in the event of global significance.
