yk Amanzholov (1889-1941) is a lawyer, political figure of Alash movement. He was born in Verny district, Bakay volost in Zhetysus region (now Chilik municipality, Almaty region).

In 1898-1907 he studied in gymnasium of Verny city (now Almaty city), in 1907-1912 he was a student at Law faculty of Kazan Imperial University. Being a young lawyer he worked in district court in Verny city. Then he worked as a court mediator in Sarkant. He also worked in Lepsy town.

After the revolution he was a head of committee in Urzhar district. In 1917 he took part at first All-Kazakh Congress of Alash Orda held in Orenburg where he was elected deputy of the congress. The same year he participated at second All-Kazakh Congress of the Alash Orda Government which also took place in Orenburg.

He also participated in creation of local organizations of Alash Orda, headed institutions of police in Zhetysu. In 1918 he was elected member of the regional council in II Zhetysu regional congress.

In 1918 after battle against Bolsheviks he was wounded. The same year A. Baitursynov, M. Dulatov and R. Marsekov came in Shaushek town where they hold negotiations with the local intelligentsia about the future of nation and discuss other important issues.

In 1923 he worked in Zhetysus regional executive committee and in 1924 he worked in Zhetysus regional court.

In 1929-1930 he leaved for Moscow, Bishkek and Tashkent. In 1941 he died in Tashkent.
