Russian Figure Skating Federation chief satisfied with Russia's performance in Bern

BERN. January 30. KAZINFORM The president of the Russian Figure Skating Federation said he was satisfied with Russia's performance at the European Figure Skating Championships in Bern.

"I evaluate Russian figure skaters' performance at the European championship as successful," Alexander Gorshkov told journalists on Saturday. "I am satisfied with all Russian participants without exception, disregarding of the places that they won," he added.

The European Figure Skating Championships finished on Saturday the men's free program. Russia's Konstantin Menshov and Artur Gachinski were fourth and sixth, respectively, while Ksenia Makarova and Alena Leonova took the fourth and fifth positions in the ladies' free skating.

In the pairs competition, Russia's Alexander Smirnov and Yuko Kavaguti won silver, while Vera Bazarova and Yuri Larionov grabbed bronze, Kazinform refers to RIA Novosti.

Ekaterina Bobrova and Dmitri Soloviev of Russia took home the silver medal in the ice dance competition.
