Russia’s COVID-19 case tally grows by 2,866 with 43 new fatalities

MOSCOW. KAZINFORM - Russia’s COVID-19 case tally rose by 2,866 over the past day to 18,442,625, the anti-coronavirus crisis center reported on Monday, TASS reports.

In relative terms, it increased by 1.6% over a week.

As many as 568 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 in Russia over the past day, 11.4% more than in the previous day. The number of hospitalized patients declined in 45 regions, while in 26 other regions the figure increased. A day earlier, 510 people were rushed to hospitals.

Moscow’s COVID-19 cases surged by 328 over the past day versus 371 a day earlier, reaching 2,779,045, according to the anti-coronavirus crisis center. St. Petersburg’s COVID-19 cases increased by 253 over the past day versus 248 a day earlier, reaching 1,537,512.

COVID-19 recoveries

Russia’s COVID-19 recoveries rose by 2,276 over the past day, reaching 17,869,964, the anti-coronavirus crisis center told reporters on Monday.

COVID-19 death toll

Russia’s COVID-19 death toll surged by 43 over the past day to 381,360, the anti-coronavirus crisis center told reporters on Monday.

A day earlier 47 COVID-19 deaths were registered.

COVID-19 kills 90 more Iranians over past 24 hours

TEHRAN. KAZINFORM - The number of deaths from the coronavirus pandemic in Iran increased to 142,654 with 90 more Iranians killed by the deadly disease over the past 24 hours, Iran's Health Ministry announced on Wednesday, IRNA reports.

90 more Iranians have died from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) over the past 24 hours bringing the total deaths to 142,654, Iran's Health Ministry said on Tuesday.

5,635 new cases of infection with COVID-19 were found over the past 24 hours, 1078 of whom were hospitalized, it said.

The Iranian Health Ministry noted that 7,130,735 patients out of a total of 7,451,779 infected people have recovered or been discharged from hospitals.

1,471 COVID-19 patients are in critical conditions and in intensive care units, it added.

The Health Ministry also announced that 64,825,066 Iranians have received the first dose and 58,197,783 people have so far received the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Moreover, 30,316,842 people have also received the third or fourth shots as the booster jab.

COVID ICU occupancy -22% in 7 days, wards -20% - FIASO

ROME. KAZINFORM - Italy's COVID-19 ICU occupancy rate fell 22% in the last seven days, hospital group FIASO said Wednesday, ANSA reports.

General ward occupancy for coronavirus cases fell by 20% in the same period, said the federation.

Some 80% of those admitted for COVID to general wards have not yet received their fourth COVID jab, it said.

Paediatric admissions were down 27% in general wards, and there were none in ICUs, FIASO said.

The 0-4 age group is still the most hit accounting for 76.5% of those admitted.

Children under the age of six months account for 32.3% of the total. (ANSA).

Russia records 23,771 daily COVID-19 cases, a new high since March 26 — crisis center

MOSCOW. KAZINFORM - Russia’s COVID-19 case tally rose by 23,771 over the past day to 18,770,657, the anti-coronavirus crisis center reported on Wednesday, TASS reports.

In absolute terms, the growth rate has been the highest since March 26, when 24,072 daily cases were recorded.

As many as 2,666 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 in Russia over the past day, up 3.6% from a day earlier. The number of hospitalized patients increased in 41 regions, while in 38 regions the figure decreased. The situation remained unchanged in six regions. A day earlier, 2,574 people were rushed to hospitals.

Moscow’s COVID-19 cases surged by 8,608 over the past day versus 4,781 cases a day earlier, reaching 2,877,323, according to the anti-coronavirus crisis center. St. Petersburg’s COVID-19 cases increased by 2,894 over the past day versus 2,639 a day earlier, reaching 1,575,669.

COVID-19 recoveries

Russia’s COVID-19 recoveries rose by 14,552 over the past day, reaching 18,075,720, the anti-coronavirus crisis center told reporters on Wednesday.

A day earlier some 13,092 patients recovered.

COVID-19 death toll

Russia’s COVID-19 death toll rose by 56 over the past day, reaching 382,902, the anti-coronavirus crisis center told reporters on Wednesday.

A day earlier 60 COVID-19 deaths were registered.
