Runaway convict detained in Almaty

ASTANA. KAZINFORM A prisoner who escaped from the colony-settlement of Shymkent was detained on Tuesday in Almaty city.

The 36-year-old man sentenced to 4 years 9 months for robbery was serving his term in Shymkent. On October 18 using the right of free movement the convict fled in unknown direction. As a result of well-coordinated work penal system officers trailed the fugitive to his hiding place in Almaty, the penal system committee of the Kazakh Interior Ministry said.
