Rockslide at abandoned mine kills 2 illegal miners

KOKSHETAU. KAZINFORM - 8, 9 March rockslide at abandoned mines of Akmola region killed 2 illegal miners.

Rockslide at an abandoned mine of Kazakhaltyn JSC, Bestobe village, killed a 25-year-old illegal miner A. Zhumakulov. Another two "black" miners were injured. Rescue operations involved 8 pieces of equipment and more than 50 people including 10 volunteers - residents of Bestobe rural area. March 9 rock mass collapsed at another inactive abandoned mine in the village of Bestobe during illegal excavations. Two people were trapped under ground. 2 hours later rescuers lifted D. Gulanov, born in 1986. Later the rescuers managed to uncover the dead body of M. Ksyuk, born in 1988. Research and rescue operations involved 5 people and 1 vehicle, the press service of Akmola region Internal Affairs Department informs.
