Resident of Astana arrested with 27 kg of marijuana

KOKSHETAU. KAZINFORM - Police of Akmola region have arrested a 52-year-old resident of Astana with more than 27 kilograms of marijuana, according to the press service of the regional Department of Internal Affairs.

22 March at 03.00 pm police stopped "Mercedes-Benz C-240" car near Atbasar station, Akmola region. Man's behavior alerted the police. During the inspection of the car they found three bags with the substance of vegetable origin inside. According to the expertise, the seized substance was marijuana with total weight of 27 kg 855 grams. Criminal case has been opened. The detainee explained that he had found the drugs in plantations near Astana. It is noteworthy that in early March in Astana the man was detained with the large scale of marijuana. The detainee was under house arrest. The apprehended person is put into a temporary detention center of Atbasar police department.
