Rain and windstorm destroyed roofs in Zhanozen, yards and railway flooded

ASTANA. July 16. KAZINFORM One and a half hour steady rain and hurricane wind tore the roofs of 2- and 5-storey houses in Orken district in Zhanaozen town, Mangystau region, the press service of the Kazakh Emergencies Ministry said.

Roofs of 2 apartment buildings, 2 administrative buildings, 4 secondary schools, Oil and Gas College, 3 commercial facilities were destroyed.

Shugyla, Samal, Koktem and Orken districts were cut off power in an emergency as a result of torrential rain.

An 11-year-old boy suffered from electric trauma at Aksu micro district was taken to hospital with various burns.
