ASTANA. KAZINFORM The meeting on the preparations for the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council sitting with participation of the heads of state took place in Astana, the Akorda press service said.

Addressing those gathered, President Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that the Eurasian Economic Union Treaty will be signed this week. "For the past 20 years we have been moving towards the economic integration. We did a lot. Now it is high time to prove in practice that the treaty will benefit the nations. We will sign the treaty for it is economically profitable. In particular, Kazakhstan has no access to open seas and our neighbors will provide it as well as access to transport infrastructure," the President added. PM Karim Massimov said that the draft treaty was developed pursuant to the President's instructions and reflects several vital points. It consists of 4 parts, 28 sections, 118 articles and 32 supplements. 1st Deputy PM B. Sagintayev reported on completion of intrastate coordination procedures and adoption of the relevant Government Resolution. Kazakh FM E. Idrissov stressed that the draft treaty provides principles ofr regard of sovereignty, territorial integrity, peculiarities of the political mechanism of the government of each of the party, and consensus of opinion in decision making.
