Pine forest of Semey ablaze

SEMEY. KAZINFORM More than 70 are reportedly engaged in extinguishing fire at the forest area of Krasnokardon forestry, not far from Semey, the emergencies situations committee said.

The total area ablaze is unknown yet. The blaze racing across the tree crown as well as at ground level complicates the fire suppression efforts.

Kilometers-long clouds of black smoke are seen from Semey.
