TASHKENT. January 31. KAZINFORM /Kurmat Samarkhan/ "The recent parliamentary election was another important step in modernization of Kazakhstan's political system," Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan Boribay Zheksembin told a briefing.

The Kazakh diplomat told the reps of local and foreign mass media, executive committee of the SCO RATS, Kazakh Diaspora and scientists about the results of the recent early Majilis elections held on January 15, 2012.

According to him, various social, gender and professionals layers of population will be represented in the Majilis. The parties represent all the regions of Kazakhstan, all social strata and ethnic groups. The composition is changed by more than 65%.

"We have once again proved the world that the country's democratic process is being steadily and consistently developed. The key result of the elections is that Kazakhstanis unanimously support the country's development course, economic and sociopolitical modernization and the people's welfare," he added.
