TANA. October 11. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ "Nuclear weapon haves should take a step towards disarmament," former President of South Africa, Nobel Laureate Frederik Willem de Klerk told journalists after the meeting with Kazakh FM Yerzhan Kazykhanov.

"I have come here to take part in the nuclear disarmament forum. Kazakhstan as well as South Africa abandoned its nuclear weapons programme. And when I was elected the President the first thing we decided to do is to dismantle 7 nuclear bombs we had. I am glad that Astana hosts such a forum and I believe we should accomplish nuclear disarmament process and adopt the relevant treaty," Frederik Willem de Klerk noted.
