The Soyuz-FG carrier rocket with Venus-Express spacecraft blasted off from the Baikonur space center on November 9, 2005. Venus Express was the first Venus exploration mission of the European Space Agency.

On November 9, 2006, Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev signed the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On ratification of the Treaty on Alliance between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic". As per the treaty, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan will continue to develop bilateral cooperation based on their alliance to further promote cooperation in political, economic, military, social, research, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

The Congress of Working Women of Kazakhstan took place in Astana for the first time on this day in 2006. The key goal of the event was to expand economic opportunities for women of Kazakhstan amid their growing social status and developing gender equality in Kazakhstan.

On November 9, 2010, the representative office of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of the Republic of Kazakhstan was unveiled in New York on the sidelines of the Kazakh-American Investment Forum.

Presentation of a symphony Shakarim composed by British Karl Jenkins and recorded at legendary Abbey Road studio was held at the Royal Festival Hall on November 9, 2010. Internationally acclaimed violinist Marat Bissengaliyev of Kazakhstan and his daughter Arukhan played and sang solo at the presentation in London.

On November 9, 2012 Kazakh-Turkish JV Abdi Ibrahim Global Pharm LLP held a presentation of its future plans in Astana. At the presentation, the company announced its plans to build and put into service a new plant for production of pharmaceuticals that would meet world's GMP standards. The agreement on construction of the plant was inked in Istanbul during the business forum with the participation of President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and then-Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The Bulgaria-Kazakhstan Chamber of Commerce opened in Astana on November 9, 2015. It was opened to maintain bilateral business ties and investment process between Bulgaria and Kazakhstan with a special focus on energy, pharmaceutics, IT, innovations, construction and architecture, real estate, transport and logistics, tourism, food industry and cultural issues.

A monument to late Kazakh singer Batyrkhan Shukenov was unveiled at the Kenssay cemetery in Almaty city on the same day. The crescent-shaped monument was made of dark green Korday stone. There is a violin clef on the left side of the monument. The height of the monument is 2.15m. An image of Batyrkhan Shukenov with a saxophone in his hands can be seen on the right side of the monument.

On November 9, 2016, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev decreed to grant the status of academic to three national theaters of Kazakhstan: the Korean Theater, the German Theater and the Uigur Theater.

On this day in 2016, the exhibition of young photographers Unknown Kazakhstan was unveiled in Baku, Azerbaijan. The goal of the unique exhibition was to show the Great Steppe filled with contrasts, ancient legends and beautiful nature. Each photograph in the exposition allowed guests to get to know Kazakhstan better.
