The national currency of the Republic of Kazakhstan tenge was introduced on November 15, 1993. It replaced the Soviet ruble at a rate of 1 tenge =500 rubles. Since then, November 15 is celebrated as the Day of National Currency of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

British writer Jonathan Aitken's book Nazarbayev and the Making of Kazakhstan about the life and work of the Kazakh President was presented at the National Library in Minsk on November 15, 2010. It is dedicated not only to Nazarbayev's biography, but also to the birth and development of the new country. The book also contains the detailed analysis of Kazakhstan's political and economic development.

The first issue of Explore Astana Guidebook was published on November 15, 2012. The brochure was dedicated to the city's top sights and attractions, restaurants, cafes and announcements of the upcoming events. It also featured a detailed map of Astana. The English-language guidebook was developed by Kazakhstan's specialists together with foreign experts.

The same day, the exhibition of the Kazakh genuine coins dating back to different periods of history from the VIII century BC to the present time was held at the Nazarbayev Center in Astana. The exhibition showcased coins of the Western Turkic Kaganate, Karakhanid dynasty, Bronze epoch as well as modern commemorative coins.

On November 15, 2013, then-Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Erlan Idrissov was appointed as Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the African Union. According to the regulations of the AU, having accredited the Ambassador, Kazakhstan was granted the status of observer in that authoritative international organization. Observer status in the organization will provide new opportunities to Kazakhstan for the development of mutually beneficial economic and trade relations with African states and expand promotion of Kazakhstan's foreign policy initiatives in the international arena.

The name of a senior teacher of the Kozybayev North Kazakhstan State University, Honored Master of Sports Viktor Saiko was featured into the Guinness Book of Record in this day in 2013. Saiko started going in for sports at the age of 45. The kettlebell lifter from the North Kazakhstan region claimed 20 gold medals at the World, European and Asian championships setting two new world, European, Asian and Eurasian records.

On this day in 2015, Kazakh athlete Gaukhar Turmakhanova claimed silver at the World Sambo Championships in Morocco.

On November 15, 2016, Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev met with then-Prime Minister of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić in Astana. At the meeting, the sides discussed the implementation of the agreements reached by Kazakhstan and Serbia during President Nazarbayev's official visit to Belgrade in August 2016. The Kazakh leader stressed that Serbia is an important business partner of Kazakhstan in Europe, adding that the two countries have vast potential in terms of economic cooperation.

The same day, the Days of the Kazakh Culture were held in Italy. The Italian public got a unique chance to see and enjoy the Kazakh national instruments at Piccolo Teatro Studio (Milan) and Academia di Santa Cecilia (Rome). In Italy, the Kazakh musicians demonstrated to the whole world the brightest achievements of the Kazakh music throughout the years of independence.
