ASTANA. KAZINFORM - There will be no supranational currency in the Eurasian Economic Union, Deputy Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan Timur Zhaksylykov told at the CCS media briefing.

"I would like to note that Kazakhstan has a consistent position on excluding the introduction of the common currency within the EEU. This issue is not even discussed. There is no provision in the agreement on establishment of the EEU on formation of the currency union and introduction of the common currency within the EEU," T. Zhaksylykov noted.

However, he stressed that the legislation in terms of regulation of financial markets would be harmonized within the EEU by 2025.
