ASTANA. KAZINFORM - National Research Medical Center of Astana has received the prestigious National Award of France and the Legion of Honor for outstanding achievements in the field of medicine, according to "Express-K" newspaper.

Abai Baygenzhin, head of the center has received the title of "Marshal of medicine". "This award was for us somewhat unexpected, although we came to this. In 2012 our center received the gold medal of Napoleon for excellence in science, it was the first step. The next step in the recognition of our achievements by the French state was the representation of the Legion of Honor. Similar awards we received earlier from Switzerland and the UK. National Research Medical Center has been accredited by international standards and the center's treatment system is marked by five stars of European quality," said the chairman of the center Abai Baygenzhin. The Legion of Honor was created in 1802 by Napoleon Bonaparte, to reward spectacular accomplishments and great services rendered to France. It is awarded based on a decision by the President of the French Republic. It should be noted that in December 2014, the National Research Medical Center was named the first winner of the national contest "Paryz 2014" for breakthrough work in the field of medical science.
