N. Nazarbayev suggested updating underlying Treaty of Friendship between Kazakhstan and Russia

MOSCOW. March 20. KAZINFORM Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev has made an offer today in the meeting with Chairman of the Russian Government Vladimir Putin to update the underlying Treaty of Friendship between Kazakhstan and Russia.  

As Vladimir Putin noted, Kazakhstan is one of the closest partners of Russia. "Largely, thanks to your efforts we have made a good progress on integration processes, such as the Customs Union, Single Economic Space and possible Eurasian Union. I would like to remind that on May 25 we will mark the 20th anniversary of the underlying Treaty of Friendship between our countries," V. Putin said.  

Nursultan Nazarbayev, in turn, expressed hope for further active development of integration processes, including, reforming of relevant institutions and preparations for the establishment of the Eurasian Economic Union by 2015. "I believe, it is an important objective beneficial and vital for both countries," the Head of State resumed.
