N. Nazarbayev: Kazakhstan ready to further bilateral cooperation with Germany

ASTANA. KAZINFORM President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has met with visiting Foreign Affairs Minister of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Astana, the Akorda press service said.

The sides debated issues concerning further strengthening of bilateral trade and economic, investment, fuel and energy cooperation, urgent regional and international agenda issues. The Kazakh Leader noted that he held fruitful talks with Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel last month in Milan. "We consider Germany as a key partner of Kazakhstan in Europe and are ready to develop further our ongoing cooperation," the Head of State said. In his turn, the German FM thanked for the meeting. "We have lots of topics to debate. The situation in the world is complicated, though there are lots of great moments we should not avoid, for example, yesterday Germany celebrated the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall," Frank-Walter Steinmeier said. Besides, the parties discussed a number of promising directions to give a new impetus for further development of bilateral cooperation.
