N.Nazarbayev, A.Lukashenko discuss key issues of the Kazakh-Belarusian relations

ASTANA. KAZAKHSTAN - Today Akorda has held a meeting of President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko who arrived in Kazakhstan on a working visit.

According to the press service of Akorda, during the roundtable the two leaders discussed the key issues of the Kazakh-Belarusian relations including cooperation in economic, trade, investment, industrial and agricultural sectors. In addition, Nursultan Nazarbayev and Alexander Lukashenko exchanged views on topical issues on the international agenda. Kazakhstan's President noted that all the agreements reached by the countries in the framework of bilateral collaboration, have been successfully performed. In this regard, the President drew attention to functioning of a large number of joint ventures in the country. Nursultan Nazarbayev also noted the contribution of the President of Belarus to the settlement of Ukrainian crisis. "Our positions that the current confrontation does not benefit anyone are exactly the same," he said. Head of State emphasized that the upcoming meeting of the heads of the three states will provide an opportunity to discuss topical issues of current and future partnership. In turn, Alexander Lukashenko noted the importance of further development of bilateral trade and economic cooperation. President of Belarus raised the issue of the upcoming presidential elections in Kazakhstan. "I know that the Kazakh people treat you with the highest attention and warmth," said Mr.Lukashenko. He wished Nursultan Nazarbayev victory in the presidential elections.
