ULAN-BATOR. KAZINFORM - The ministries of foreign affairs of Kazakhstan and Mongolia held political consultations for the first time during the visit of First Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev to Ulan Bator.

Upon completion of the talks, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Rapil Zhoshybayev and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Navaan-Yunden Oyundari signed the cooperation plan for 2015-2016.

The sides familiarized each other with the key aspects of social and economic situation and foreign policy conducted in their countries.

"The relations with Kazakhstan are very important for the foreign policy of Mongolia. Our presidents recently met in Moscow on the occasion of the 70 th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The inter-parliamentary relations are developing. I express gratitude for the warm reception of the parliamentary group from Mongolia in Kazakhstan in February of this year. We also invite Kazakhstani parliamentarians to take part in the autumn session of the OSCE parliamentary Assembly in Ulan Bator on September 15-19," N. Oyundari said.

She also noted a great potential of cooperation between Ulan Bator and Astana within the framework of multilateral structures and projects such as the SCO and building of developed infrastructure along the Silk Road. She also proposed to hold regular inter-ministerial seminars and roundtables on the issues of regional and multilateral cooperation, exchange of specialists and establish cooperation between diplomatic academies of both countries.

As earlier reported, the diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Mongolia were established on January 22, 1992. As of 2014, the volume of trade turnover between these two countries made USD 58.9 mln.
