Mexico to step up trade with Kazakhstan - Ambassador

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Mexico intends to step up sales turnover with Kazakhstan, according to Ambassador of the Mexican United States with concurrent accreditation in Kazakhstan Martha Elena Barcena Coqui.

Ambassador Coqui made the statement after presenting credentials to Kazakh Secretary of State Gulshara Abdykalikova in the Akorda presidential residence. "Today we've discussed the upcoming EXPO-2017 event in which Mexico plans to participate. We've also touched upon the problems of cultural and students' exchange ," Martha Elena Barcena Coqui said of her meeting with Secretary of State Abdykalikova in the Akorda presidential residence. "We want to step up the two-way trade with Kazakhstan. We will also cooperate in the sphere of energy, oil and gas and renewable energy sources," the Mexican diplomat stressed. Ambassador Coqui also pointed out that Kazakhstan is one of the world's leaders in terms of extraction of mineral resources. "Meanwhile, Mexico boasts top positions in gold and silver mining," she said. "We would like to work with Kazakhstan in nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament as well," Ambassador Coqui added.
