Mexico to open its diplomatic mission in Astana next year

ASTANA. KAZINFORM "Mexico will open its diplomatic mission in Astana in 2015," said Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the United Mexican States José Antonio Meade Kuribreña during the meeting with Kazakh Foreign Minister Erlan Idrissov.

Idrissov, in his turn, officially announced the opening of the Kazakh Embassy in Mexico. In a meeting the parties signed an intergovernmental agreement to cancel visa requirements for bearers of diplomatic, official or service passports, a step that will give a new impetus to bilateral cooperation. Besides, they sides signed a memo on consultation mechanism between the foreign ministries, a memo of cooperation between the Public Service Academy of Kazakhstan and the Matías Romero Institute, adopted a joint statement on bilateral agenda and common positions on global issues. It should be noted that September 18, 2014 Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Erlan Idrissov began his first official visit to the United Mexican States.
