A monument to wrestler and akyn Baluan Sholak was unveiled in the namesake village in Shu district of Zhambyl region in 1992.

In 1995, a number of decrees signed by First President Nursultan Nazarbayev on the ratification of the Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation on military service; the Agreement on the creation of the payment union of the CIS member states; and the Agreement on the creation of the International Economic Committee of the Economic Union were published.

In 2010, three out of six volumes of anthropologist, traveler and educator Shokan Valikhanov's works were translated into Kazakh for the first time ever.

Kazakhstani drama Zhauzhurek myn bala received rave reviews at the 65th Cannes Film Festival in 2012.

In 2015, Minister of Justice of Kazakhstan Berik Imashev was awarded at the Saint Petersburg International Law Forum for his contribution to the development of legal integration in the Eurasian space.

A monument to Koblandy Batyr was unveiled at the interaction of Gertsen and Koyevskaya streets in Kostanay in 2016.

National Geographic Magazine found Kazakh woman Fazila Zhanaltai who graced the cover of the magazine back in 1954 and invited her to the presentation of the first Kazakh edition of the magazine in 2016. Zhanaltai was only 16-17 when her photograph was taken by an American photographer for the cover.

The Kazakhstani Literature and Culture Center was opened at the National Library of the Chuvash Republic in 2018.
