ASTANA. February 14. KAZINFORM. /Murat Zhakeyev/ "The first-ever Women's Congress of Kazakhstan will convene on March 5 in Astana," Labour and Social Protection Minister of Kazakhstan Gulshara Abdykalikova told at a press conference held in Kazinform agency.

"During March 11-17 women's conferences will take place the countrywide, involving the foreign delegates. The whole month will be devoted to family values, maternity and childhood issues, and continuity of traditions. We have started great preparatory works paying attention to social categories, mothers and children and women's problems", the Minister added.

Above 1 000 women from Kazakhstan, CIS states and beyond sent their applications to participate in the congress. Those attending will discuss the tasks and prospects for the development and promotion of balanced gender, family and demographic policy until 2020.
