Magnitude 4.2 quake hits Almaty rgn

ASTANA. KAZINFORM The Network of Seismic Stations of the Ministry of Education and Science recorded an earthquake at 3:36 p.m. Almaty time on May 16, Kazinform reports.

The quake was centered 410 km north of Almaty in the territory of Kazakhstan.

Its energy class is 9.4. Its MPV magnitude is 4.2, depth of focus is 20 km.

No earthquake perceptibility (MSK-64 scale) was reported.
