Lukoil and KazMunayGas request for gas flaring termination extension – Minister Mynbaev
This has been announced by Sauat Mynbaev, the Minister of Oil and Gas, at the Government Hour in the Majilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan.
"The government has already prolonged the period of gas flaring termination deadline at “AktobeMunayGas” Interdepartmental Commission for three times. The last time this renewal was carried out till July 1 the current year ", noted Mynbaev.
According to him, at present "Lukoil" and "KazMunayGas" are appealing to the Ministry with a request to prolong the termination of gas flaring until November 2013 due to the problems with sulphur disposal. Sulphur utilization plants occurred to be not sufficiently airtight and now the Government has to make a choice either to cut back "AktobeMunayGas" production by 60 percent or to extend gas flaring termination period.
