ASTANA. February 15. KAZINFORM. Minister of Economic Affairs and Communications Juhan Parts, speaking at an Estonia-Kazakhstan business forum in Astana on February 14, emphasized Estonia's willingness to become the inland nation's sea gate in the foreseeable future.

Another speaker at the forum bringing together 150 Kazakh industry leaders, head of the Estonian Logistics Cluster, Urmas Kõiv, said that Estonia's deep seaports give it a competitive edge. "The Kazakhs [...] are interested in selling large shipments of 100,000 tons on average, which means they have a need for deep ports," Kõiv said.

Compared to alternative transport corridors, Estonia could offer Kazakh companies lower handling prices, and the Port of Tallinn is ready to seek investments for building a terminal or distribution center for Kazakh goods, said the Logistics Cluster, Kazinform quotes ERR News.
