Lithuania intends to be part of Great Silk Road, Minister Sinkevičius

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Lithuania intends to become part of the Silk Road project, this has been announced by Minister of Transport and Communications of Lithuania Rimantas Sinkevičius during a panel session of 8th Astana Economic Forum.

"The Great Silk Road played a very important role in the development of civilization of both Asia and Europe. In my opinion it is good that politicians and government officials agree that the Great Silk Road should be restored for the benefit of our peoples," said R. Sinkevičius. Minister Rimantas Sinkevičius said that Lithuania is committed to participate in this global project. "Lithuania intends to become a part of the Great Silk Road. We are taking concrete steps to ensure the Great Silk Road going through the Baltic countries, through Lithuania via Klaipeda sea port," stressed Mr.Sinkevičius.
