ASTANA. KAZINFORM - A delegation of Kazkosmos, headed by the chairman of Aerospace Committee under Investment and Development Ministry, the adviser to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Civil Aviation and Space Talgat Mussabayev, is on a working visit to Abu Dhabi.

According to the press service of Kazkosmos, yesterday the delegation, consisting of Kazkosmos chairman and heads of JSC "Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary NC", JSC "National Center for Space Communications", met with the chairman of the Space Agency of the United Arab Emirates Khalifa al-Thani ar Rumeysa. During the talks, the sides discussed the issues of cooperation between space agencies of the two countries in areas of space research, remote sensing, global satellite navigation, use of space infrastructure, creation of space vehicles and parts, provision and use of launch services. Chairman of the Space Agency of the UAE Khalifa al-Thani ar Rumeysa noted the great potential for mutually beneficial collaboration between the two friendly countries. Khalifa al-Thani ar Rumeysa informed Kazakhstan reps on the preparation of legal acts regulating the activities of the first in the UAE space agency. For his part, Talgat Mussabayev briefed his Arab counterparts with the results on the creation of Kazakhstan space communication systems, remote sensing and navigation. At the end of the meeting the parties agreed to sign a new memorandum between the relevant agencies on cooperation in exploration and use of outer space for peaceful purposes. It should be noted that Kazkosmos delegation also plans to participate in the XIII International Conference on Astronomy and Space Science which is to be held March 11-12 in Dubai. Space cooperation between Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates is developing dynamically. In 2009 Baikonur cosmodrome launched the first satellite of the UAE called Dubai Sat-1. November 14, 2011 the National Space Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Institute for Advanced Science and Technology of the United Arab Emirates signed the coop agreement on exploration and use of outer space for peaceful purposes.
