Kazkosmos delegation participates in UN Commission on Peaceful Uses of Outer Space

ASTANA. June 1. KAZINFORM /Sara Kabikyzy/ The 54th session of the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS) starts its work today in Vienna. Kazakh delegation led by Kazkosmos chief Talgat Mussabayev takes part in it, the press service of the Kazakh National Space Agency reports.

This meeting is dedicated to the Fiftieth Anniversary of Human Space Flight and the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space.

Number of member-states in the Committee is 69. It reviews the scope of international cooperation in peaceful uses of outer space, devises programmes in this field to be undertaken under United Nations auspices, encourages continued research and the dissemination of information on outer space matters, and studies legal problems arising from the exploration of outer space.
