Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan interested in deepening multilateral dialogue and increasing trade

TASHKENT.  August 15. KAZINFORM /Kurmat Samarkhan/ On August 13-14 delegations of the foreign ministries of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan met in Tashkent to hold consultations, the Uzbek MFA's press service said.

The parties shared views on the state and promising directions for deepening Uzbek-Kazakh dialogue in politico-diplomatic, trade, cultural-humanitarian spheres and debated urgent issues of the regional strategy.

During the negotiations great attention was paid to expansion of bilateral ties in law enforcement sphere, joint fight against terrorism, religious extremism and organized crime, drug trafficking and other transnational threats.

Besides, the sides showed interest in increasing mutual trade and expressed readiness to contribute to extension of business contacts between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

Besides, members of the Kazakh delegation, led by Deputy Foreign Minister Amangeldy Zhumabayev, met with officials of the Uzbek foreign ministry and departments to discuss cooperation issues.
