Kazakhstan, UK reps discuss implementation of ‘Newton - Al-Farabi’ partnership program

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Astana, in the framework of "Newton - Al-Farabi" partnership program, has held a working meeting, according to the press release of Science Foundation under the Ministry of Education and Science.

The roundtable has been attended by Deputy Chairman of the Science Committee L.Kusainova, British Ambassador to Kazakhstan Carolyn Brown, director of the British Council in Kazakhstan, the cultural attaché - Simon Williams, acting Chairman of the Board of JSC "Fund of Science" E.Tazabekov, acting Managing Director of JSC "Fund of Science" G. Kurmangaliyeva, director of the Center for International Cooperation of JSC "Fund of Science" I.Akoyev, head of strategic planning of "Fund of Science" A. Kulmagambetova, Head of India, Middle East and Africa Team at Department for Business, Innovation and Skills Laura Robinson, minister-counselor for Political Affairs Ute Lynch, manager of the International Programme, international fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering Sharad Sharma, the future director of the British Council Kazakhstan Jim Buttery, manager of "Newton - Al-Farabi" partner program, the representative of the British Council in Kazakhstan Rowan Kennedy, project manager of "Newton - Al-Farabi" partner program, the representative of the British Council in Kazakhstan Kanat Abashev. Affiliate program "Newton - Al-Farabi" co-financed by the governments of the UK and Kazakhstan, and serves as a basis for enhanced cooperation in the field of research and innovation among governments, government agencies, research organizations, universities, companies and enterprises to support economic development Kazakhstan. British Council from the UK and JSC "Fund of Science" of Kazakhstan are coordinators of "Newton - Al-Farabi" program.
