Kazakhstan to increase military cooperation with Poland and Japan

ASTANA. July 13. KAZINFORM  The Minister of Defence of the Republic of Kazakhstan received Minister of National Defence of the Republic of Poland Tomasz Siemoniak. The two sides signed an agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Poland on cooperation in defence sphere, Defence. Professionals reports.

"Kazakhstan and Poland being the leading states in the Central Asia region and Eastern Europe, respectively, show a mutual interest in developing partnerships across the entire spectrum of bilateral relations," Adidbek Dzhaksybekov underlined. "One should note the successful experience of fruitful cooperation between the two countries in the implementation of Kazakhstan's state program "Path to Europe", as well as in the format of the "Kazakhstan - the European Union."

As it is known, Kazakhstan and Poland gained a successful experience of cooperation being in composition of the multinational forces in Iraq, where servicemen of the two armies, interacting with each other, proved to be highly skilled professionals and honorably fulfilled the task.

Kazakhstan troops which took part in the coalition in Iraq actively use the gained experience, including the direct interaction with foreign military personnel, in training peacekeeping detachments.

Defence Minister Adilbek Dzhaksybekov briefed his counterpart about the basic goals and objectives of development of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan at the present stage, noting the establishment of national defence industry and troops equipment with modern weapons and military hardware.

"We are actively working out possibilities of creation of joint ventures on manufacturing products of military and dual-use purpose with our foreign partners," Defence Minister of Kazakhstan said. "We already have experience of working with foreign defence industry enterprises, including the Polish ones."

Yesterday, the Polish military delegation also visited the National Company "Kazakhstan Engineering" which supervises national defence enterprises. Adilbek Dzhaksybekov expressed gratitude to the Polish Chamber of producers and representatives of the Polish Navy Yard, who took part in the Kazakhstan's exhibition of weapons systems and military equipment "KADEX-2012" through his colleague.

At the end of the meeting defence ministers of the two countries stressed that today's signing of the Agreement on Cooperation in defence sphere was of great importance. This creates a legal framework to further strengthen and expand bilateral relations for productive interaction with a view to strengthen the defence potential of both Kazakhstan and Poland.

DEVELOPMENT OF PARTNERSHIP WITH JAPAN

On the same day Adilbek Dzhaksybekov recieved Deputy Minister of Defence of Japan Hironori Kanazawa.

Kazakhstan Defence Minister congratulated the Deputy Minister of Defence of Japan and in his face Embassy of Japan in Astana with the opening of the office of the military attache.

"We welcome this move and support the initiative to strengthen Kazakh-Japanese relations in the military sphere." Kazakhstan Defence Minister underlined. And Deputy Defence Minister of Japan expressed confidence that it would open a new facet of Kazakh-Japanese cooperation - defence cooperation.

Kazakhstan Defence Minister announced the priority aspects of the activities in the frames of international military cooperation. One of them is that there are currently active and ready to open joint ventures that perform communication, electrooptical devices, aircraft. Among the main priorities are also development of peacekeeping component and military education.

This is not the full range of priorities in international format and Adilbek Dzhaksybekov noted that the Ministry of Defence of Kazakhstan was always ready for cooperation development.
