Kazakhstan, Sri Lanka eye growth of bilateral cooperation

ASTANA. October 17. KAZINFORM In Colombo, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan Dulat Kuanyshev met with Sri Lanka's Foreign Minister Gamini Lakshman Peiris, the Kazakh MFA's press service reports.

The meeting mainly concentrated on the preparation of the upcoming visit of Sri Lanka's President Mahinda Rajapaksa to Kazakhstan this year.

The sides noted growth of the bilateral cooperation mostly affected by a meeting between Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev and his Sri Lankan counterpart Mahinda Rajapaksa in 2011.

Gamini Lakshman Peiris said Sri Lanka highly appreciated and supported Astana's bid to host EXPO-2017.

The sides also touched upon the ways of stimulating the political dialogue, intensifying the commercial and economic cooperation and developing the cultural ties.
