ASTANA. KAZINFORM "Population of Kazakhstan increased by 169,700 people or by 1% for the past eight months to reach 17 mln 330 thousand," chairman of the Statistics Committee of the National Economy Ministry Alikhan Smailov said.

"As of September 1, 2014 the country's population made 17, 330, 500 people, including 9,560,300 of urban population and 7,770,200 of rural. It grew by 1,5% against the same period of 2013," he added. "266,200 infants were born in January-August 2014 that is 5,100 or 2% more against the analogous period of the last year. The number of deaths decreased by 4,7% as compared to the same period of the previous year," he resumed.
